EuroVO-ICE Work Packages

PROJECT WORKPACKAGES

WP1 - Management

This Work Package is led by CNRS. Its objectives are to oversee the project on behalf of all the partners, to co-ordinate financial and administrative matters and to deliver the project external presence.

WP2 - Strategy, Governance and Liaisons

This Work Package is led by CNRS. Its objectives are to ensure all the project high-level co-ordination activities, to explore long term sustainability, and the international co-operation and liaisons with other disciplines, through:

  • WP2-1: Project overseeing
  • WP2-2: European co-operation and articulation with the national level
  • WP2-3: Liaisons with other disciplines
  • WP2-4: Strategy definition
WP3 - Coordination of take-up activities

This Work Package is led by ESO. Its objective is to serve the science community in its uptake of the VObs-enabled data infrastructure, to:

  • Trigger advanced usage of VObs capabilities
  • Gather feedback about the science community needs
  • Gather feedback on the adaptation of VObs tools to these needs
WP4 - European and international coordination of technological activities

This Work Package is led by UEDIN. Its objectives are:

  • To co-ordinate the technology development within the Euro-VO partnership
  • To share best practice and maximise development efficacy
  • To co-ordinate European contributions to development of international interoperability standards within the IVOA
  • To optimise the match between IVOA standards and European requirements
WP5 - Coordination of education and outreach activities

This Work Package is led by INAF. Its objectives are:

  • To co-ordinate the provision of services by the Euro-VO partnership to education and outreach
  • To co-ordinate changes in the education and outreach material and tools, taking into account user feedback
  • To share education and outreach experiences with neighbouring disciplines
