Instructions for P.I.s

Due to EC rules and regulations, each ASTROVIRTEL P.I. must

• by the first half of January, write a Project Summary Report
• by the end of the project, fill the Users Questionnaire and send it directly to the EC (see address inside the questionnaire), together with another Project Summary Report to be sent to the ST-ECF (see below).

P.I.s are required to make use of the forms available in this folder for your convenience (originally from the EC web site). Please send the Project Summary Reports to:

and the Users Questionnaire to the EC at the address specified in the Questionnaire itself.

Please be reminded that the acceptance letter concerning your successful ASTROVIRTEL Proposal contained the following important Footnote:

"Any publications resulting from this proposal should contain an acknowledgement mentioning that ASTROVIRTEL is a Project funded by the
European Commission under FP5 Contract No. HPRI-CT-1999-00081"

Unfortunately, a generic acknowledgement to ASTROVIRTEL (or ECF, or ESO) is not enough. In particular the European Commission and the Contract No. HPRI-CT-1999-00081 must be mentioned in order for the note to be effective.

An appropriate sentence could be:
"The support given by ASTROVIRTEL, a Project funded by the European Commission under FP5 Contract No. HPRI-CT-1999-00081, is acknowledged"

Sorry to appear pedantic, but I am sure you understand that the future funding of similar proposals also depends on these formal statements.
