About Tutorials
N.B.: participants are encouraged to download and install the software on their laptops in advance.The seven self-contained tutorials are held in parallel in consecutive sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.
Participants will move in groups from tutorial to tutorial.
Friday morning is reserved for additional unstructured work on custom problems, finishing hands-on exercises, and preparation of the feedback and summary session in the afternoon.
Note: On Friday morning there will also be a demo on AstroWise, by E. Valentijn.
Beer Garden and Workshop Dinner
Venue: Schloßwirtschaft Oberschleißheim - areal map (.pdf).Transfer: by bus; departure on Wed at 3:30 pm from ESO; return to hotels in Garching after dinner; distance 8 km.
Before the dinner starting at 7:30 pm in the Maximilian Hall on the 1st floor (above ground level) of the Schloßwirtschaft there are various options to choose from:
- visit the aerospace museum a few minutes walk away; open until 5 pm
- self guided tour through the museum in the palace Oberschleißheim until 6 pm
- enjoy the large park of the palace with artificial lakes and water fountains
- have a good time in the beer garden adjacent to the restaurant
